Susquehanna River Sunset at Duncannon, PA

Starting at: $1.00

Being a Pisces, I have a particular fondness for water, especially when it's a grand river such as this one. The Susquehanna River reaches a width of nearly a mile long in some spots. Pictured here with a beautiful sunset in the background, the location of this photo was from on top of the Clark's Ferry Bridge, which carries PA Route 322 over the river near Duncannon. I am actually on the eastbound exit ramp for PA Route 147 which goes North to Halifax. Duncannon sees quite a bit of traffic from both the roadway and, more importantly, the Appalachian Trail. Trail hikers can expect to come across this spectacular viewpoint anytime they pass through Duncannon, and it is definitely a spot I will return to often. This is from a series of photographs I took here during my first visit to this location, and I captured it on 6/17/2008 at 8:10:41 PM.
