Native around Georgia and Florida in the United States, the echo moth caterpillar grows to about 45mm. Known for its fire orange fuzzy color with black and yellow bands across the dorsum. The habitat is thickets, scrubwoods and other open habitats. They eat cabbage palmetto, crotons, lupie, oaks, coontie, persimmon and other woody plants.

Captured 9/6/2013 in Florida at a rest stop near the outskirts of the Everglades highway, approaching Miami around 7:15 am.
